Critical Care Neurology

One of newest and fastest-growing medical specialty is neurology critical care/intensive care. It is a branch of medicine which deals with neurological conditions that are potentially fatal and guards against further brain damage. Neurointensivists  are the medical professionals who administer this kind of medication. They may have their medical training in neurology, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, internal medicine, or neurosurgery. Strokes, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, ruptured aneurysms, seizures, brain swelling, infections of the brain and the meninges surrounding the brain or spine, brain tumors, and a lack of breathing muscles are common illnesses which are mostly treated in neurointensive care units.
